At Global Green Conservation Connect (GGCC), we believe that conservation efforts are most impactful when they are built upon collaboration, mentorship, and shared wisdom across borders. As we root our efforts in Dharmapuri, Tamil Nadu, we are honoured to receive guidance and encouragement from international conservation communities who share our passion for nature.
We are proud to have established a meaningful connection with Friends of Lyncombe Hill Fields (FLHF), a grassroots conservation initiative based in Bath, United Kingdom. FLHF has successfully transformed a once-neglected green space into a thriving community-led nature reserve through active citizen participation, ecological restoration, and long-term stewardship.
FLHF’s Director, Mr. Maurice Tennenhaus, has personally expressed support for GGCC’s vision and has generously shared valuable insights from FLHF’s journey. Their model of inclusive environmental action has become a beacon of inspiration for our team as we lay the foundation for conservation initiatives in rural India.
As part of this evolving partnership:
This cross-continental connection between Bath and Dharmapuri is a symbol of what GGCC stands for: global knowledge, locally rooted action. We are deeply grateful for FLHF’s friendship and mentorship as we grow together towards a more sustainable future.
We are honoured to be supported by the Friends of Henrietta Park (FoHP), a dedicated volunteer group in Bath, UK, known for their long-standing commitment to protecting and enhancing their local green space.
Henrietta Park, established in 1897 to mark Queen Victoria’s Diamond Jubilee, is a beautifully maintained 7-acre public park near Bath’s iconic Pulteney Bridge. With rich heritage and vibrant biodiversity, it stands as a model of urban green space management.
Thanks to the tireless efforts of FoHP, the park has once again earned the Green Flag Award—a national recognition for excellence in park maintenance, safety, and community involvement.
FoHP’s grassroots conservation values closely align with GGCC’s mission. Their support reflects a shared belief in community-led environmental action, and together, we aim to foster global connections between people who care for nature—from Bath to Dharmapuri.
As an incubated project at the Forest College and Research Institute (FCRI), Mettupalayam, GGCC benefits from a strong foundation of academic and technical support. This affiliation provides us with access to a wide network of experts, researchers, and field practitioners who offer guidance on ecological protocols, data collection standards, restoration techniques, and conservation strategies tailored to the Indian landscape.
Through this collaboration, GGCC is empowered to design scientifically sound initiatives that combine field-based knowledge with community engagement. Our local partnerships ensure that every activity—from biodiversity surveys to habitat restoration—is informed by best practices and adapted to regional ecological conditions.
This institutional support not only strengthens the credibility of our work but also fosters a shared commitment to advancing conservation in India through education, innovation, and grassroots action.
